Vytautas Magnus University (VMU) participated in the Vilnius Book Fair
The Vilnius Book Fair, a traditional event that started 24 years ago as a place to sell books, has now become a large-scale cultural festival, gathering both Lithuanian and foreign authors, musicians, and other artists.
This yearʼs program at the Book Fair focused on current issues: discussions were held on the war in Ukraine, the future of books, and the impact of artificial intelligence on literature. “We welcome this fair firmly believing that the Vilnius Book Fair is not only a platform for literature, but also for important social discussions,” said the organizers.
Vytautas Magnus University (VMU), participating in the annual fair, presented up to eight cultural events, introducing new creators, scholars, and their works to fair visitors. It is gratifying to witness that a large group of interested participants took part in the events.
Jonas Vaičenonis has hosted a reception for Mindaugas Balkusʼ monograph “How Kaunas Became Kaunas: The Lituanization of the City 1918–1940.”
